“Together, we will win.” — A letter from Steve Vasquez, U.S. Representative Candidate, NY 21st District

I recently received a letter from Steven Vasquez (who is running for Congress in New York’s 21st District) after sending out the latest email for the new money bomb site at FreedomSlate08.com. We at BreakTheMatrix.com think Steve has captured much of the essence of the what the freedom movement must do now and so we would like to share it with you .

Here is the email from Steve Vasquez:

Trevor,

The email sent out for the www.FreedomSlate.com is good, but I believe the
message for the next round of emails should be more directed towards
accomplishing the goal of continuing the Ron Paul movement, giving Ron
Paul more voice and votes in Congress, and create enough momentum to
launch even more candidates for 2010. Currently the various Ron
Paul candidates across the country are isolated, essentially competing
with each other for the remnants of the movement left after the
primaries. If we continue this way to fight individually, we are all
going to lose. The strength of the movement was its unity and its
shared and direct vision of restoring the principles of the
Constitution.

I believe the goal of www.FreedomSlate08.com should be 3 fold:

a) Bring as many RP supporters back to volunteer and donate by showing a strength of unity and the possibility of doing more than even the presidential campaign;

b) Raise enough money for the candidates to make their races viable;

c) Make www.BreakTheMatrix.com a central hub to unite the movement.

We must all work together as a movement towards restoring Congress across the country. It is exciting that
each individual campaign has strong supporters dedicated to the
success of their candidate. We should work together to bring everyone back together to
the Ron Paul freedom movement, by showing a strong unity among the
candidates and Ron Paul. The strength of the sum is much greater than
its parts. That is why events such as www.FreedomSlate08.com is such
an important vehicle to demonstrate the strength of the movement
across the country. It is compelling enough to bring the masses back
to volunteer for their local candidates and donate across the board
approaching the levels even half that as it was with Ron Paul.

If in the course of this election cycle, we can bring enough people
back in the movement to donate $6 million (in several money bombs),
that is enough to generate on average $400,000 for the top 15
candidates to run competitive races, and perhaps have 5-10 win. That
is a strong beachhead to grow our voting block by upwards of 1000% in
Congress, and create enough momentum to bring many more candidates in
for the 2010 races.

But we can not do this if we do not work together as a team. Our goal
is to bring back the motivation and hope of the R3VOLution and
demonstrate that they still can achieve change beyond just the
Presidential campaign. We need to do this as one voice. Across the
country. The path towards success is to have many voices back up that
of Ron Paul in Congress, not just one or two.

Individually, we are isolated, fighting amongst each other for the
same resources rather than working to make the overall pool grow and
flourish. Together, we are stronger with a unified principle of the
Constitution to guide us.

Together, we will win.

Barry Hess, Governor from Arizona

I’m running for Governor of Arizona because people are fed up with the two-party system and voters deserve an alternative choice which truly represents them. I know your demands are being ignored by the powers-to-be, and I’d like to be your voice as Governor.

The two big parties have had their chance, and now it’s time to return Arizona to its Libertarian birthright of small but effective government. It’s time to get Phoenix out of your wallet and your bedroom.

I’m running for governor because I wish to ensure that you have the greatest educational, healthcare, entrepreneurial and vocational opportunities — while decreasing violent crime and securing our borders.

These lofty ambitions cannot be accomplished without you. Please take the time to donate or volunteer and become involved as an integral part of our exciting new movement for freedom.

T. Lee Horne, III - Action Item

Vinson Mouser
Campaign Manager
T. Lee Horne, III for Governor

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DATE: September 17, 2007
FROM: T. Lee Horne, III for Governor Campaign
PHONE: (888)823-0318

While there has been a lot of complaining about Bobby Jindal not debating the candidates and his refusal to show up at many invited events, the real focus should be on the upcoming debates hosted by CABL and LPB.

The first debate is scheduled for September 27 and will be broadcast statewide. This event, being sponsored by Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) and Citizens for A Better Louisiana (CABL) is being touted as a debate to let you, the People of Louisiana, learn the positions of the candidates.

The fact is the debate will be biased, since all of the candidates will not be allowed to participate. You will not have the opportunity to hear the idea’s and views of all candidates. The voters of Louisiana will only be able to hear from the four who are rich and/or politically connected.

Their requirement of having raised and spent $250,000, five times the Secretary of State’s electronic filing requirement and more than double the governor’s first years salary, will ensure that you only hear from candidates that are financially well off and/or well connected. It serves to further entrench the absurd levels of money needed to be spent to run a statewide campaign, and it silences those candidates who are both efficient with their funds and who find alternative means of reaching the voters. Bottom Line - it excludes those candidates who are most fiscally responsible and who think “outside the box” to solve problems - exactly what we need in government. Instead, LPB and CABL are limiting your choices to “the good ‘ole boy network.”

Their requirement of showing at least 5% in a recognized nonpartisan or news media poll released prior to the debate is unfounded. First, because at this stage, most polls measure only name recognition; something which public forums exist to provide. Second, even if this rule were sound, there have been no known released polls which included all of the candidates. If the poll did not include everyone, then it is biased and should not be a consideration.

If this debate proceeds as is, and is not opened up to all of the candidates, LPB and CABL will be guilty of leading you and the rest of Louisiana into voting based on the same tired positions of the old guard politicians. In so doing, both will be guilty of trying to manufacture the news and sway your opinion rather than reporting and informing.

While we understand LPB and CABL are trying to give more time to the candidates they perceive as having a realistic chance of winning, the reality is that these exclusions make them guilty of skewing the race in favor of candidates who are already politically and financially connected to the very problems the people seek to solve. It is not up to LPB or CABL to determine who is a viable candidate. It is up to the voters, not LPB or CABL, who will be the state’s next governor.

Limiting the free flow of ideas stifles democracy and limits the choices of the people, and it doesn’t even come close to the goal of educating you about the choices for Governor in Louisiana.

This year we have witnessed many Presidential debates in which all of the candidates have been able to participate. It has been shown that a debate with a large number of candidates can be successful and can include a healthy exchange of ideas.

T. Lee Horne, III calls for the immediate opening of the LPB/CABL debates to all of the candidates so that the voters can understand who the choices for governor are and so they can make a truly informed vote; not a vote that is biased and skewed by LPB and CABL’s opinion.

Wm. Donald Tabor Jr., 14th District Senate Representative

“- A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.”
-
Thomas Jefferson

This was Thomas Jefferson’s design for our government, but Virginia has strayed from that ideal and left us all the poorer as a result. My goal is to restore that vision by reminding our representatives what made our country great, and that is our people, not our government.

Jim Guest for Missouri’s 5th District US Congress (Incumbent)

Hello, I’m state Representative Jim Guest from Missouri. It is an honor to serve the 5th District and the citizens of Gentry, DeKalb and Clinton County in the Missouri House of Representatives. I have worked diligently to hear your voice and represent your ideals and voices in Jefferson City. I truly believe Missouri is making progress and moving forward in a positive direction.

Your ideas, thoughts, and opinions are essential if I am to make your voices heard in Jefferson City. My first term in the Missouri House of Representatives was a educational, rewarding and wonderful experience. I am looking forward to continuing serving you in the future.

We have made some major accomplishments already but, there is so much that still needs to be done. Together we can make it happen. I take pride in the fact that I am helping shape the future of Missouri.

I am also a leader of “Legislators Against Real ID”. L.A.R.I., is a coalition of states formed to put up a united front against the federal governments effort to impose a national identification program.

The Real ID Act is just one of many pieces of legislation from the Federal Government which, if allowed, would do considerable damage to the freedom of America.

Dean Santoro for Florida’s 21st District US Congress

Hello. My name is Dean Santoro and I am running for Congress in District 21 of South Florida. The seat is currently held by Lincoln Diaz-Balart, a neoconservative Republican who consistently votes the failed Bush Agendas. It’s time for a change, time to elect people like me who will TRULY & TRUTHFULLY represent the interests of the PEOPLE, not those of the bought & paid for special interests. I am a supporter of Ron Paul and his philosophies of freedom and liberty and once elected I will work hard to restore & protect those rights that have been stripped away by the Neocons and their selfish, corporate-greed sponsored agendas. A vote for me is a vote for freedom and liberty.

T. Lee Horne III for Governor of Louisiana

My goal is the remind my generation of and begin enacting the pledges we made back in college to make the world and better place by ending and staying out of Viet Nam type wars, by ending discrimination based on race, religion, sex or social beliefs and by ending governmental prohibition on behavior between consenting adults. I believe my experience in dealing with varied commercial and business problems and experience in dealing with people qualifies me to be your candidate in 2007 and Governor of Louisiana in 2008.

Brent Sanders for Louisiana’s 5th District US Congress

Mr. Brent Sanders of Alexandria has formally announced his candidacy for 5th District Congressional Representative. Sanders graduated high school from Holy Savior Menard High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Louisiana College. Mr. Sanders is very concerned by the direction of many of the policies being followed by our government in Washington, D.C and by those who claim to represent the citizens of Louisiana. After much deliberation, he has resolved that the best remedy for this problem is to ask the constituents of Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District to support him in working for better, more intelligent government.
